Latch which is placed at the end of the profile (see picture below) results in higher durabilty of the contruction and makes soffit more stable. Using profiles with latch secures soffit from strong winds, which is common cause of the breaking contructions of roofs. Profile is easy to clean, simultaneously it is resistant to weather conditions and mechanical damages.
